Eddie Garcia, hailing from Winston-Salem, redefines the meaning of singer-songwriter. Under the name 1970s Film Stock, he single-handedly creates conceptual pieces of music—sometimes accompanied with drum beats and vocals—through looping and layering effects, and intricate guitar lines.
As 1970s Film Stock started out with a more disruptive and abrasive approach to the instrumentations, Garcia seems to have settled into a more melodic writing style with his latest album, “Birds.”
On August 11, Garcia released “Birds” through Brooklyn’s Fire Talk Records, available for purchase here. Watch the new music video for “We’re Not Going Anywhere” below, a track off of this latest album, directed by Mount Coffin.
